Smyrna Episcopalian church votes to sever ties from denomination

All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Smyrna has voted to split from its denomination over the consecration of openly gay bishops. The church, now known as Saint Patrick’s Anglican Church, timed its split from the American Episcopal Church with the seating of Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori as presiding bishop.

Jefferts Schori refuses to abide by The Anglican Church’s Windsor Report, a set of resolutions dictated from the Anglican Church to the Episcopal Church to bring it back to more traditional ethics.

The Reverend Ray Kasch, congregational head of Saint Patrick’s, says Jefferts Schori is for same-sex marriage. Saint Patrick’s doesn’t support same-sex marriage and believes sex between two men or two women qualifies as sex outside of marriage.
