The Nashville Association of Professional Persons (NAPP), Nashville’s GLBT Chamber of Commerce, has named John Wade, president of Freedom Financial Advisor, as its executive vice president.
The appointment comes as part of a restructuring effort that will also add a few new board positions. Wade currently serves as treasurer for the group, and will take his new position at the November NAPP membership meeting.
Chris Sanders, the gay chamber’s president, praised Wade’s dedication to the organization and said the role will allow Wade to develop new initiatives.
“John has provided thoughtful leadership in driving the creation of our GLBT Life and Business Expo and the CRG networking group,” Sanders said. “He will continue to develop new initiatives that will help NAPP make the transition to the Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce.”
The board of directors also adopted a new logo at their August meeting — a logo that incorporates the name of the group, NAPP, along with the new marketing focus as the GLBT Chamber of Commerce.
Shane Burkett of SBResults designed the logo, which combines the NAPP and Chamber identities, using the colors of the Tennessee flag, and highlighting the concept of the GLBT business community’s “piece of the pie.”
SBResults has redesigned the NAPP Web site to incorporate the new logo and color scheme.
“The new logo will clearly communicate who we are to existing members, prospective members, and the wider business community,” Sanders said. It will serve as the organizing concept for our new Web site design and all our materials.”
