Knoxville’s annual PrideFest will be held today in Market Square.
Along with the many booths and entertainment there will be a parade that starts at 3:30 p.m. The parade route starts on Union and State, continues south until Church Ave., west to Gay St. and then north to Wall Ave.
The parade ends at Market Square, which is where the festival will begin. The festival will last from 4 to 10 p.m. today.
"Be sure and stop by the information booth for a copy of your free 2010 Pride Book and purchase an official 2010 Knoxville PrideFest t-shirt for only $15. If the heat gets too much and you’d like to relax in the private VIP lounge provided by Cocoa Moon you can purchase a VIP pass at the information booth as well," said Todd Cramer, one of the organizers of the 2010 Knoxville PrideFest. "Additionally, our friends at Preservation Pub are providing an internet gateway and Etherion, Inc. has installed a self-healing wireless mesh network and several wireless nodes for your use during the festival (look for SSID Pridefest 2010). So fire up those iPads, iPhones, and Androids. Tweet the festival, upload pics to the Knoxville PrideFest facebook page, and browse the web while we entertain you!"
