We’ve weathered a very stormy track record for May weekends, so it wouldn’t surprise us if some opted for some warm sand and rolling tides for the upcoming holiday weekend. Monday may be your official day off but there is plenty to do between now and then.

Your GLBT community best bets kick off tonight (May 22) at OutCentral when Mark Hubbard presents HIV Horizons: A Community-Focused Research Update. Hubbard’s discussion will include information about new prevention technologies, reports of possible functional cures as well as explanations of what recent research findings mean to GLBT communities in layman’s terms. The event starts at 6 p.m..

If you’re looking for a bit of bling to your humpday look no further than the exclusive private preview of jewelry and art envisioned and created by JP Di Lenardo featuring stunning works in precious metals. Hosted by Renee Layher and brought to you by Argentiere Luxury the CULT925 presentation will take place at the Hutton Hotel.

Step right up into the big top—er, the Schermerhorn—starting Thursday night and take a journey to a faraway land of dazzling beauty, mystery and suspense. Cirque Musica blends the grace and thrills of the world’s greatest circus performers with stunning symphonic music — including pieces by Tchaikovsky, John Williams and a salute to The Beatles. Want to win a pair of tickets? We’ll pick a random winner tonight so make sure you enter now. You can also see Cirque Musica Friday and Saturday. Tickets available here.

Concert alert! Check out JoJo this weekend at SEEN. In 2004, JoJo broke pop records with her debut single “Leave (Get Out)”. At 13, the pint-sized vocal powerhouse became the youngest female singer to score a pop Billboard number one single and her debut album sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. She’s played several southern pride festivals over the last few years including Miami and Savannah, Ga.. Get tickets for this show here.
