Fall Fling kicks off season in Chattanooga

Fall will be in the air when Tennessee Valley Pride (TVP) kicks off the waning months of 2006 with a slew of events. The starting event will be the 2006 Fall Fling set for Sunday, October 1, at Camp Jordan. The event will begin at noon.

The planning committee has worked hard to put together six hours of live entertainment including local vocalists Kim Brown, Chattanooga Hoe Down, Metropolitan Community Church choir, Jacqueline St. James, and others. They have also planned a full day of activities including a Chili cook off, volleyball, softball, badminton, horseshoes, sack races, egg races, croquet, and more.

TVP is offering free vending spaces if registered before September 22, 2006.

Admission to a full day of fun is $5. The lawn area will be set up for blankets, lawn chairs, and small tents. Feel free to bring all you need to make your day at the park fun and comfy. There will be plenty of food, hot dogs, chili, chips, cotton candy, and drinks.

Prizes will be awarded for all the activities as well as for the chili cook off. The chili cook off winner will have their recipe as a Menu Special at The Big Chill in downtown Chattanooga. So break out the old family recipe and see if you can make it a city favorite.

Future events will include the Miss and Mrs. Tennessee Valley Pride Pageant contest on Sunday, October 15 at Images and a Winter Prom on the Riverboat in December.
