‘Dining Out for Life’ sets table April 24

Nashville Cares will be raising funds for AIDS projects by filling us with gourmet foods and spirits for the fifth year. More than 60 restaurants will be participating with dinner, some for lunch and others both, on Tuesday, April 24.

Dining Out for Life is a very popular one-day event, which last year had 60 participating restaurants that attracted over 8,000 diners. More than $60,000 was raised for AIDS prevention and education. Each restaurant donated 30 to 100 percent of their day’s revenues for this great cause.

The local festivities are part of a much larger international event in over 33 cities. In 1991, an ActionAIDS volunteer in Philadelphia created the spark that two years later made it an international fundraising event.
