What would the world be like if there were no gays?
The people behind jointheimpact.com hope to answer that question with "A Day Without a Gay," the next event scheduled as part of the gay civil rights movement.
On International Human Rights Day, Dec. 10, the people behind Join the Impact are encouraging GLBT people not call in sick from work but to call in gay and then spend the day volunteering their time to a service to show the world the power of love.
The daywithoutagay.org Web site states "gay people and our allies are compassionate, sensitive, caring, mobilized, and programmed for success. A day without gays would be tragic because it would be a day without love."
Hundreds of thousands of people have already participated in rallies and protests across the nation as part of the movement in reaction to anti-gay ballot initiatives in Arkansas, Arizona, California, and Florida.
Will you call in gay?
