Well, we won our racquetball tournament this past weekend! Does it REALLY matter that we had to sand bag to do it? It wasn’t an intentional sand bag, so that should make it alright, right? Yes, it has been ALMOST a year since I had that dreaded knee surgery and now I am back in the ‘trenches’…just when they thought I had retired!
What about New Jersey jumping on board? I am beginning to think it is time to move North East! Renee, what do you say? Your work there would be a lot easier! You would have more time to have some fun.
Speaking of “Roving Renee," she has reported that the Belcourt gig went very well…(see below)
“Just in case we don’t have a chance to talk before Monday….the show at the Belcourt was fantastic!!! Favorite moments: Mark Sanders version of, “I Hope You Dance." Laura Darling’s harmonica solo. Tammy Fowler’s jokes. (Check out this months Advocate. Tammy’s Vote No on 1 Blame the Gays went national!) And everything Jen Foster did: "Surprise guest Jill Colucci did, No One else on Earth plus tons of tv commercial songs she’s written. Bonnie, Jen, & their girlfriends put on a great night of music for Nashville.
I caught a “double feature” this past weekend. “RUNNING WITH SCISSORS” and “THE PRESTIGE”. OK, so I found “RUNNING WITH SCISSORS” to be quite a let down. I don’t know if it is just me…(although HOW can that be?) or WHAT?! I thought this movie was supposed to be a COMEDY…FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Boy, was I sure in for a SHOCK! I did TRY to laugh (because I thought I was supposed to) but, it was actually VERY depressing! By the time I left this movie, I FELT like running with scissors, IN THE DARK!
After that movie, I NEEDED to see another movie to BOOST my psyche. Which brings us to, “THE PRESTIGE," which I liked a lot. It has mystery; It has magic; it has a plot; and Pam….it even has SCARLOTTE JOHANSON!YIPPEE! If you’re into that sort of thing. Without ruining this movie for you, do I ever? I shall give this movie four VALSTARS.
Has everyone seen Lance Bass’ boyfriend? WOW! What a cutie! He is also ex Air Force. Plus a prior winner on "The Great Race." Quite a catch! The downside is he has been receiving threats lately…imagine that? (Could it have anything to do with the military?)
Well, the PREDS finally won a home game. It was quite exciting too. The ‘icing’ was that they beat the SHARKS their ‘arch rivals’ from last years play-offs. N-I-C-E! Then, they took their game to Canada and won there. It was quite an exciting game too! They are starting to look very good now.
And the TITANS won again, but who didn’t think they would beat the TEXANS? I thought that was going to be their ONLY win this year! (Well, that was BEFORE they started to play better.) Let’s see what happens next week before I say too much.
Check out the photo gallery for some great Halloween Costumes. My favorite one is the ONE NIGHT STAND. A guy dressed as a night stand complete with a lamp shade for a hat. I thought it was very original.
