Transgender American Veterans Association to hold multi state chapter meeting

The Transgender American Veterans Association plans to hold their first 2007 multi-state chapter organizational meeting on Saturday, March 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Knoxville, Tenn.

The meeting will be held at the MCC-Knoxville Church, 7820 Redeemer Lane. Please call (865) 525-5444 for directions and to RSVP for the meeting. There will be refreshments available for purchase along with some food.

Those who live in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee are all encouraged to attend. Others outside of these areas may attend also.

You don’t have to be GLBT or a veterans to attend or to get involved. Prospective state chapters, along with the charter chapter in Knoxville are not strictly for Transgender American Veterans.

TAVA serves as an educational organization helping the Veterans Administration and the Department of Defense to better understand its members. TAVA’s state chapters also serve as advocates for its members affected by natural disasters. Additional information can be found on the organization’s Web site at
