The employment nondiscrimination ordinance in Memphis failed earlier this week

At the last meeting of the current four-year term of office on August 18, Shelby County Commissioners chose not to approve a more specific employment nondiscrimination ordinance than the one it approved in 2009. That 2009 ordinance does not specifically reference sexual orientation or gender identity.
