The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA), a non-profit agency dedicated to educating and exposing people to the art of fine craft, announces that exhibitor applications are available to craft artists for the 28th Annual TACA Fall Craft Fair set for September 29th – October 1st at Nashville’s Centennial Park.
Any craft artist is invited to apply to this juried craft fair. Five color slides of recent work must accompany each application. Applications with slides must be mailed to the TACA office and postmarked no later than July 1, 2006 for jury consideration. The selection committee looks for original crafts of exceptional quality, both traditional and contemporary, which demonstrate excellence of design and skilled craftsmanship in the execution of each piece. Applications are available by calling (615) 385-1904 or on the web at www.tennesseecrafts.org.
The TACA Fall Craft Fair is the kickoff event for the holiday season and annually attracts more than 40,000 visitors, providing an exceptional marketplace for fine craft. Approximately 190 craftspeople from across the country will be selected to participate, exhibiting works in clay, glass, metal, fiber, wood, hand-processed and printed photography and original prints. In addition, the three-day festival offers craft demonstrations, a variety of great food, children’s activities, and live music, all on the lawn in front of Nashville’s replica of the historic Parthenon.
The TACA Fall Craft Fair is produced by a statewide, non-profit agency, the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA), recipient of the Governor’s Award in the Arts for exemplary service during more than 40 years connecting crafts and people across Tennessee.
