OutLoud! Books & Gifts will close its doors this weekend with a celebration open to the public.

The farewell event will be held Sunday, Feb. 20 from 3-8 p.m. For more information, supporters have created a Facebook page.

OutLoud! is an independent bookstore committed to providing the GLBT and progressive communities with essential educational and entertainment resources. Ted Jensen and Kevin Medley, owners of the popular Church Street shop, announced in December that they were retiring after 15 years in business.

The store’s inventory includes a diverse selection of books and general merchandise, clothing and gifts, and public access to information about the GLBT community.

OutLoud! also hosts community events and book signings, and have participated in numerous charitable activities since their opening in 1996.
