Nashville’s Turnip Truck opens second location

On Saturday, Oct. 30, The Turnip Truck will marks it grand opening of Turnip Truck Urban Fare in The Gulch. The Turnip Truck is the only locally owned grocery with a focus on organic and natural foods; its original location has been serving East Nashville for nine years.

The Turnip Truck Urban Fare (311 12th Ave South) will be the first grocery in The Gulch and will be the only full-service grocer in downtown Nashville. The Gulch grocery will offer a 9200 square feet and feature a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, a hot and cold food bar with items prepared in-house, sandwiches made to order, a full seafood and meat department, juice bar, and a large selection of prepared take-out food.

There will also be a large health and beauty section in the store that features cruelty-free cosmetic and body care products and a selection of environmentally friendly cleaning and paper products. 

The grand opening includes farmers and vendors giving samples and coupons of their products carried at the store. Executive Chef of the café Laura Wilson (formerly of Ombi, Wild Iris, and Watermark) will be offering cooking demonstrations. The first 200 shoppers who spend $40 will receive a Turnip Truck grocery tote. There will be a Turnip Toss game with prizes, as well as healthy fall treat bags for kids. All activities are free to the public.
