Nashville Rep Postpones Production of Mary Poppins

Continuing the slate of cancellations and postponements in the entertainment sector, the Nashville Repertory Theatre yesterday announced that its production of Mary Poppins would be postponed. The company hopes to put on the play in the summer of 2021, the notice said, but no dates are currently being set.

Three options are being offered to ticket holders at this time: donation to the Rep, retaining the value of the ticket for a future performance, or receiving a refund. For more information, see the full announcement below.

To our audiences, patrons, and artists,

Due to the ongoing concerns for your health and safety during the COVID pandemic, Nashville Repertory Theatre has decided to postpone our production of Mary Poppins. We are exploring options to bring this show to you in the summer of 2021, but at this time there is no rescheduled date.

The current health crisis is presenting extraordinary challenges to Nashville Rep and virtually all arts organizations in Nashville. Being able to gather and to experience live performance is the heart of what we do. Your ticket purchase and your support will help sustain us as we offer alternative programming this summer and fall and move toward returning to the theatre when it’s safer to do so.

If you purchased tickets to Mary Poppins, you have three easy options:

  • Convert your tickets to a tax-deductible donation to Nashville Repertory Theatre.
  • Hold the value of your tickets on account for use during the upcoming season.
  • Get a full refund

If you have any questions about your ticket options, please contact the TPAC box office at [email protected]. If you have questions regarding Nashville Rep programming, please contact us at [email protected]org. We thank you in advance for your patience as we are receiving many inquiries and requests. Please know that we will respond to you as soon as possible.

This is not the way we envisioned we would be closing our 35th anniversary season, but rest assured that, with your help, we will be back soon for season 36. We are truly grateful for the support you have shown us, not only through this challenging time, but also for the many years prior. We look forward to welcoming you to the theatre once again soon!
