Nashville Pride offers scholarships to GLBT students

Nashville Pride Inc. is now accepting application for the 2006 NPI Scholarship.

The $500 scholarship is available to students of any age entering their first, second, third, or fourth year of college at an accredited institution who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or queer. Prospective recipients must complete a short application and must be residents of the state of Tennessee.

This is the second year for the Nashville Pride Scholarship Program. Last year, four scholarship winners each received the $500 scholarship and were recognized at the 2005 PrideFest.

“We are so excited to be able to do this,” said Todd Grantham, Nashville Pride president. “It’s so wonderful to be able to give back to the community, particularly to those who truly need our help to succeed – our young men and women.”
