A new slate of board members has been named to the Nashville Pride board and they are hoping to kick-off planning for the 26th annual festival with the help of some “Friends with Benefits.”
Returning to the executive board with more than 15 combined years of service to Pride are: Past- President Allan Gonce, President Joseph Woodson, President-Elect Claudia Huskey, Treasurer Christy Ikner, Marketing Director Joey Leslie and Festival Director Jack Davis. Todd Howell joins the board as Secretary.
Woodson said the board is already getting to work planning for the 2014 festival after a successful twenty-fifth anniversary celebration this year.
“We look forward to another exciting year with our annual festival that continues to grow, all of our best events like Martinis & Jazz, and Pride Rocks! Pre-Party,” Woodson said. “We look forward to sharing the fun and some new surprises and ‘benefits’ along the way with our long-time supporters and many new ones.”
New additions to the at-large board are Debra Hyslop, John McManus and Kerrie Turney. Returning board members include Pastor Greg Bullard, Lisa Howe, MAC, Heather Thompson, Metro Councilman Peter Westerholm and Milton White.
The group recently launched “Friends with Benefits”, a new program to garner early donations by incentivizing donors with perks including discounted tickets to popular annual events such as ‘2 Chefs 2 Visions’ and VIP Admission to the annual festival and more. Memberships start at $150. More information can found at NashvillePride.org/FWB.
