Nashville will play an important role next week in a national multimedia project that promotes GLBT awareness.

Nathan Manske, a 29-year-old copywriter originally from Driftwood, Texas, developed I’m From Driftwood, a website that collects and shares true lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender stories from all over the world. Inspired by the motion picture Milk, Manske made it his mission to help GLBT youth realize they’re not alone. Last fall, the IFD crew embarked upon an ambitious four-month, 50-state Story Tour to collect and share more GLBT stories from the smallest towns and biggest cities across America. Manske’s journey has been chronicled in Advocate, and on websites such as Queerty and After Elton.

The IFD Story Tour will visit Nashville from Nov. 16-18. IFD is seeking people willing to share their stories. They hope to meet a broad range of folks across gender, ethnicity, race and age groups. If you are interested in participating in this project, contact us at [email protected]
