Meghan McCain, author of Dirty Sexy Politics, will speak at the kickoff for MTLambda’s SpringOut Week on Wednesday, April 6. Her appearance is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the MTSU Learning Resources Center. The event is free and open to the public.

From the Middle Tennessee State University press release:

McCain, the daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), is slated to discuss the incivility of political discourse in America, including the discourse surrounding gay rights issues. After a brief address, McCain will open the floor for questions. A 2007 graduate of Columbia University, McCain worked on her father’s 2008 bid for the American presidency. From that experience, she created mccainblogette.com, which offered readers an insider’s view of life on the campaign trail.

Dirty Sexy Politics, McCain’s 2010 memoir of the campaign, gave an in-depth account of conservative politics and her criticisms of Sarah Palin. McCain currently writes a column for thedailybeast.com.

McCain’s appearance at MTSU is sponsored by Scholars Week and by MTLambda, a student organization which strives to support and raise awareness about the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. For more information, contact MTLambda President Brandon Farrar at [email protected].
