A Nashville gay and lesbian Weight Watchers group that has been meeting since Jan. 2007 is starting the New Year with a new ten-week session and is currently seeking new members to join.
Since 2007 the group has lost at total of 2,664 lbs., said group leader Stanley Albright. Membership in the group averages around 17 people and several people have been able to make their goal weight.
“It has been a very successful and supportive group,” Albright said.
A new session will begin on Jan. 4, 2010, and will meet in the middle lounge at Tribe (1517 Church St.). Weigh-in begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by a brief meeting at 6.
The cost of the new session is $110 for new members; $105 for continuing and $100 for lifetime members.
“This is for a 10-week series and we only need 12 people to get the group going,” Albright explained. “So put those New Year’s resolutions to work and come join our group. You will be successful in dropping those holiday pounds.”
The group has a Facebook page that can be found by searching “Nashville Gay Weight Watchers”.
