A new men’s clothing store will soon open on Church Street, marking yet another new business in Nashville’s growing “gay district.”
Joey Brown and Todd Roman, owners of Play Dance Club, are opening the store that will carry the name, “Joe”. It will be located in space once occupied by the Global Market, at 1513 Church Street.
The “gay district” on Church Street in Nashville is home to several GLBT businesses including a OutLoud! Department Store, Blu Bar, Play Dance Club, Tribe Video Bar, and Red Restaurant. OutLoud! recently moved into their new expanded space and plans on opening a coffee shop within the next few months. Hustler Hollywood opened a few months ago and the street is also home to MidTown Liquors.
Joe will be the first store on the strip to specialize in men’s fashion. An opening date hasn’t been set, but Brown said it would be soon.
“We are going to New York and Las Vegas to purchase all of the clothing,” he said. “We will specialize in mid to upper end jeans, shirts, t-shirts, underwear and swim wear.”
