Human Rights Campaign Nashville Hosts October Membership Meeting with National Representative


Heather Wellman, Communities Manager for the national HRC organization, will be the featured speaker at the monthly HRC-Nashville Membership Meeting on October 27, 2005 , at Outloud! Bookstore at 1701 Church Street.

HRC Communities Manager Heather Wellman provides training and support to HRC’s steering committees and emerging communities (core groups of high-level volunteers across the country). Heather also works to develop an established HRC presence where one does not currently exist. Heather has been with the Human Rights Campaign for four years. Before recently accepting the Communities Manager position, Heather was a field organizer, working to develop and execute HRC’s federal and state electoral and legislative goals at the grassroots level. Heather has also worked for the National Organization for Women and is a graduate of Elmira College in Upstate New York.

Heather will discuss a variety of topics including a brief explanation of what HRC does, the current hot topic of the Supreme Court, recent victories for the GLBT community, and the importance of our volunteers. She will also dedicate time to questions and answers.
