GLBT Chamber of Commerce honors Nashville leaders

The Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce will host its third annual awards banquet at Cabana on Sunday, Oct. 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A delicious brunch buffet will be provided, and a cash bar will be available. Attire for this event is business or business casual.

This is the third annual awards banquet honoring Nashville’s most influential GLBT leaders and their straight allies. The Chamber’s awards are the only ones given to nominees made by its membership.

"In the third year of this event, we continue to receive numerous nominations in each category who are well-deserving and influential in Nashville’s GLBT community," said John Wade, NGLBTCC President, "We are very excited to honor this year’s highly-deserving award recipients at Cabana, a Chamber member and venue that I’m certain will make for a most memorable banquet."
 
This year’s recipients are:

  • Michael Burcham – Entrepreneur of the Year
  • David Glasgow and Van Pond, Jr – Community Leader of the Year
  • Janis Ian – Leadership in the Arts
  • Joyce Peacock – Business Leader of the Year
  • SunTrust Bank – Corporate Diversity Award

The winner of the event’s most prestigious honor, the President’s Award, will be announced at the ceremony. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased online at the GLBTCC website.
