The 8th annual Dining Out for Life raised $90,000 for Nashville CARES and its HIV/AIDS support services and education programs.
The event, held April 27, saw 64 area restaurants donating a percentage of their sales that day. Twenty of those gave 50 percent or more, while all others gave 30 percent from breakfast, lunch, dinner or a combination of all three.
Suzy Wong’s House of Yum was the top donor, with a $7,000 gift representing 100 percent of its sales. Kalamatas in Green Hills followed with $4,265 and Germantown Café was just behind with $3,063. Both figures represent 50 percent of sales.
Nashville Pharmacy was the event’s presenting sponsor, and more than 120 volunteers fanned out across the city to ensure a presence at each participating restaurant. For a list of all participating eateries, click here.
