‘Days of our Lives’ celebrates 45th anniversary

"Like sands through the hourglass, these are the days of our lives…"

Popular NBC soap opera Days of our Lives marked the 45th anniversary of the show last month, and a new book has been released to commemorate the occasion.

Days of our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos is hardcover coffee table book that traces the history of the show and its families from the inception of the series to the present. It’s a rare glimpse of over 500 behind-the-scenes photos of one of America’s most beloved television shows. A Celebration in Photos uses never-before-seen images of cast, crew, sets and styling.

The book is a photographic journey that chronicles the production day of a soap opera, including hair and makeup routines, wardrobe fittings, technical preparation, and taping of an episode. Original pages from scripts, hand drawn sketches of original costumes, archived photos, and some of the earliest designs are also featured.

The authors for this project are Greg Meng, executive producer of Days of Our Lives, and Eric Campbell, an art director and graphic designer based in Los Angeles.
