The Dance Theatre of Tennessee (DTT) will host a grand opening festival at its new center for dance in Donelson on Saturday, Aug. 21. The free event will begin with a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. Included will be dancing, music, food, pets available for adoption, activities for children, and paintings for sale to benefit the theatre by Ron York and Friends.
All activities will be held inside the facility, which is 14,000 square feet and features five huge dance studios. DTT is the performing arm of Asian American Performing Arts Society, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. The organization offers live performances, facilitates the exchange of performance artists from around the world, and trains local youth in both the art of dance and performance theater. DTT presented their debut performance, “New Beginnings,” last month at Vanderbilt’s Ingram Performance Center.
