The Mike Bloomberg 2020 campaign in Tennessee is hosting a “Proud With Mike”  happy hour Monday, February 3, 2020, at Tribe, for a rollout of Bloomberg’s LGBTQ+ policy.

Last week, the campaign released a comprehensive plan for improving LGBTQ+ rights in America, including:

•ensuring equal treatment of LGBTQ+ Americans in the workplace and in their communities

•addressing disparities in health care coverage and treatment for LGBTQ+ people and work to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic by 2030

•protecting LGBTQ+ youth and families and promote safe and inclusive schools

•take a comprehensive approach to addressing the epidemic of violence against transgender women of color

Spencer Bowers, a member of Tennessee’s senior campaign staff, will lead a short discussion of Mike’s record on equality and policies in his campaign to defeat Donald Trump.

According to his campaign, “As Mayor of New York, Mike led the fight with the state legislature for marriage equality and officiated the first legal same-sex wedding in New York.  For the last four years, his company has received a perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC)’s Corporate Equality Index and has been named one of the ‘Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.'”

The Bloomberg campaign now has offices in Nashville, Chattanooga, Jackson, and Knoxville, with three more offices across Tennessee slated to open in the next week.
