A night of bright lights and cool entertainment has been scheduled for Nashville’s sixth annual holiday tree lighting celebration.
The holiday kick-off party will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, at Outloud! Bookstore and Revive Coffeehouse, beginning at 7 p.m. OutLoud is located at 1703 Church Street in Nashville.
Live entertainment will be provided at Revive by musicians Freddy Freeman and Gordon Roqué. The event is being coordinated by OutLoud!, Revive, the Tennessee Equality Project (TEP), and OutCentral Community Center.
Participants are encouraged to buy or make an ornament to add to the tree during the event which is held each year to demonstrate and enhance the unity of the community. OutLoud! will offer a special selection of handcrafted paper ornaments that evening which participants can personalize and place on the tree for a $5 cash donation to TEP.
For those who want to add their own flair to the community tree, Veronika Electronika will be offering ornament crafting sessions at Revive on Thursday, Dec. 4, starting at 7 p.m.
During the celebration, TEP members will provide updates on the past year’s political actions and outline the group’s plans for the coming year. Participants are encouraged to visit OutCentral for more information on how to get involved in the community. OutLoud! and Revive plan to donate 10% of the evening’s sales to the TEP.
