A mayoral candidate forum for the LGBT and ally community will take place on June 23rd from 6:00-7:30pm at the Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music in Ingram Hall. It is sponsored by the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Tennessee Equality Project, Tennessee Stonewall Bar Association, and the Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition.

All seven candidates for mayor will participate in the forum. The panel will be moderated by Chris Conte from News Channel 5. Doors will open at 6:00pm and candidates will have representatives in the lobby. The one-hour forum will begin at 6:30pm. The event is free, and parking is free. You may want to register to attend.

The forum gives the LGBT and ally community an opportunity to hear where candidates stand on the deeper issues affecting the LGBT community like discrimination, housing, healthcare, and safety. Candidates will have the opportunity to go on record with their initiatives for the LGBT and ally community.
